My name is Samuele Bariani. I grew up in Italy but I have been living in Canada since 2013. I am a Psychotherapist (RP) with The College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) since 2018. I offer online and in person counselling.

In 2021, I realized a personal dream to become a professional counsellor in Italy where I am honoured to bring the knowledge and skills I accumulated in Canada to offer online counselling.

I am fluent in English and Italian and I can speak functional Spanish.

My experience includes working with individuals, couples, youth and families who have faced a variety of issues such mood concerns, symptoms of anxiety, emotional regulation, loneliness, relationships and family concerns, parenting, and spirituality.

Having worked as a retailer, social worker, communication officer, and freelance journalist, I have a diverse background. I completed my undergraduate degree in Philosophy at The University of Milan in Italy and hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Counselling from Tyndale University in Toronto, Canada.

In my own life experience, I have learned two fundamental things that support my work.

First, I believe in the healing power of an authentic human connection. Second, through my travels and life transition from Italy to Canada, I learned that at the core of any transition is a quest to focus our attention on our life stories and see ourselves as the active protagonists of these stories.

I believe we are not called to this journey alone and there are times in our lives when we may need to reach out for help.

During our initial sessions, I will connect to your life story and collaborate to create a plan for reaching your goals. I see counselling as the art of creating something new and unexpected that makes any life an unrepeatable masterpiece.

Being Italian and having lived abroad for over 10 years has given me the opportunity to understand the challenges of becoming immersed in a new culture.

Therefore, I have a deep specific interest in supporting people who deal with the challenges of being a foreigner, immigrant or newcomer.
