My counselling approach
I am curious, compassionate, dedicated, insightful, intuitive and open-minded.
I believe in the healing power of an authentic human connection.
In my own life experience, I have learned two fundamental rules that support my work.
First, I believe in the healing power of an authentic human connection. Second, through my travels and life transition from Italy to Canada, I learned that at the core of any transition is a quest to focus our attention on our life stories and see ourselves as the active protagonists of these stories.
I believe we are not called to this journey alone and there are times in our lives when we may need to reach out for help.
I have a deep specific interest in supporting people who deal with the challenges of being a foreigner, immigrant or newcomer.
My experience includes working with individuals, youth and families who faced a variety of different issues such a sadness, worries, emotional regulation, loneliness, relationships and family concerns, parenting, and spirituality.
Being Italian and having lived abroad for over 8 years has given me the opportunity to understand the challenges of becoming immersed in a new culture.
Therefore, I have a deep specific interest in supporting people who deal with the challenges of being a foreigner, immigrant or newcomer.
I work from a client centered, anti-oppressive and trauma informed perspective. Modalities I use in practice are Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Family Systems, Structural Family Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, EFT and Attachment Theory.
